Experience Counts
In this area, most systems run off an underground well and require a pump. We will handle the whole process of installing your irrigation system from getting a permit to drill the well, to requesting Miss Utility to mark for underground utilities. You need an experienced well driller that knows how to get the most water and the cleanest water possible. Water that contains a lot of iron, is often found closer to the surface. We can't guarantee clean water, but we do our best to get it and that is guaranteed.
Compare the Difference
Pipe Size Affects Pressure - We use 1" poly pipe. Some installers will use 3/4" pipe because it is cheaper. The problem is the smaller pipe restricts the water flow. Poly pipe is flexible, good for the climate in Hampton Roads, and easier to repair if damage is done to the pipe.
Sprinkler Head Size - As your grass grows you may find your sprinkler heads aren't tall enough to raise up over the grass. Most grass is kept at 3" when it is cut, so as it grows it isn't abnormal that it will reach 4-5". If this happens the grass will prevent the water from spraying where it was intended leaving brown grass. We use 6" spray heads standard, whereas others may use 4" heads to reduce costs.
Type of Rotors - Every manufacturer has a low end and a high end product line. We proudly use Hunter I-20 Rotors for all of our turf areas. While these rotors cost a little more, they are rugged which results in longer life. Hunter I-20's have commercial grade springs for longer life and come with a 5-year manufacture warranty.
